Ice Cream Solves Everything

With scoops of hope and a sprinkle of determination, we're changing the world, one scoop at a time.

From Nonprofit to For-Profit: How Scoopable Ice Cream Aims to Change the Community
As a mother of three wonderful children, one with Autism and another with Down syndrome, my journey has been marked by compassion and an unwavering commitment to creating meaningful opportunities for individuals with intellectual disabilities. Our family's experience has inspired me to dream of a community where acceptance is just the beginning, and where every individual's unique abilities are cherished and valued. It's with this vision in mind that I took the leap from running a nonprofit to venturing into the for-profit world, opening ScoopAble Ice Cream.
The Transition from Nonprofit to For-Profit
Starting as a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting individuals with disabilities was an incredible experience. It allowed me to contribute to a cause close to my heart and make a positive impact on the community. However, I realized that true empowerment comes with sustainable, meaningful employment opportunities. I wanted to venture into the for-profit sector not just for financial stability, but to open doors for individuals with intellectual disabilities, providing genuine and fulfilling work experiences.
Creating Real Meaningful Opportunities
ScoopAble Ice Cream isn't just another dessert spot. It's a place where everyone, regardless of abilities, can thrive and contribute. At ScoopAble, we are committed to providing a supportive work environment that fosters personal and professional growth. From front-of-house roles to crafting delectable ice cream flavors, individuals with intellectual disabilities play an integral part in our operations. Through this venture, I hope to inspire other businesses to embrace inclusivity and recognize the value that individuals with disabilities bring to the table.
Changing the Community for the Better
This venture isn't just about ice cream; it's about creating a ripple effect of positive change in our community. By providing real job opportunities for individuals with intellectual disabilities, we're sparking conversations and actions that promote inclusion and appreciation for everyone's unique abilities. Through ScoopAble Ice Cream, I aim to leave a lasting impact that extends far beyond the four walls of our shop, ultimately creating a more inclusive and compassionate community for my children and others like them.
A Scoop of Hope
Just like the delicious scoops of ice cream we serve, ScoopAble Ice Cream embodies the sweet taste of hope and possibility. As a mom, entrepreneur, and advocate, I am determined to build a business that not only delights taste buds but opens doors and changes mindsets. Join me on this journey as we scoop up a brighter, more inclusive future, one scoop at a time. Together, let's show the world that meaningful opportunities and genuine acceptance know no bounds. Thank you for being a part of the ScoopAble story.
With scoops of hope and a sprinkle of determination, we're changing the world, one scoop at a time.
Sincerely,
Amy Pennington
